Terms of Service
Last updated: 30 July 2026
These terms are maintained by the Trug team and govern your use of the Trug app and website. By creating an account you agree to them.
Your account
You need an account to use Trug. Keep your credentials secure and let us know if you believe your account has been accessed without permission. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.
Acceptable use
Do not use Trug to break the law, harass others, post spam or misleading content, attempt to access other people’s data, or disrupt the service. We may remove content or suspend accounts that breach these terms.
Your content
You keep ownership of the plants, logs, photos, and posts you add. You grant us the permission needed to store, process, and display that content so the app can work — for example showing your photos back to you, sharing them with members of a garden you invite, or publishing a community post you choose to make.
Shared gardens
Inviting someone to a garden gives them access to that garden’s plants, tasks, logs, and photos. Only invite people you trust. Garden owners can remove members at any time.
Plant guidance and AI advice
Care schedules, weather-driven tasks, and AI-generated advice are informational only. They are estimates based on catalog data and forecasts, and they can be wrong. Always use your own judgement, particularly for plant toxicity, edibility, pesticide use, or anything affecting people or pets. Trug is not a substitute for professional horticultural, medical, or veterinary advice.
Barter and trades
Trug helps gardeners discover surplus produce, but any trade is arranged directly between users. We are not a party to those exchanges, do not verify listings, and are not responsible for the quality, safety, or legality of anything traded. Meet safely and follow local rules on sharing home-grown food.
Service availability
We may change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. We aim to keep the app reliable but provide it “as is,” without warranties of uninterrupted or error-free operation.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Trug is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost plants, crops, or data, arising from your use of the service.
Ending your use
You can stop using Trug and request account deletion at any time. We may terminate accounts that repeatedly or seriously breach these terms.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the app evolves. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
